New Appointments Strengthen Radical’s Management Team

Radical is delighted to announce two new appointments to its management team, significantly bolstering the in-house knowledge and expertise of Radical as market leaders in providing the best track and race experiences worldwide.

Mark Armstrong (above, left) joins the Radical Group as UK-EU Motorsport Manager. A motorsport professional and successful racer with over 20 years’ experience of organising and promoting customer track programmes for some of Europe’s best-regarded motorsport brands.

Mark’s most recent appointment was as Head of Drive at Silverstone, responsible for all retail, corporate, race and manufacturer driving events at Silverstone. As a board director of the Association of Racing Driver Schools (ARDS) Mark has an in-depth understanding of the process and challenges faced by drivers entering motorsport, and with his Mark Armstrong Motorsport consultancy has supported McLaren, Audi and the BRDC with their racing programmes.

A winner of multiple races and titles including the 2018 Historic Formula Ford Championship, Mark will oversee the development of Radical’s UK and European race and track events. Mark is the first point of contact for new and existing Radical competitors looking to race in the UK based Radical Challenge and Radical SR1 Cup series, as well as ‘Radical European Festival’ events planned for 2021 in conjunction with our European dealer base.

David Allenby (above, right) joins the Radical Group as Head of Powertrain, taking both the commercial and technical lead for our high-technology Radical Performance Engines  (RPE) products, including the newly-released 425HP 2.3L High Output EcoBoost as found in the new Radical SR10. David was previously based at Mercedes HPP – suppliers of Formula 1 Power Units to Mercedes AMG Petronas as well as Racing Point and Williams.

Prior to this David was involved in the engine build and development programme at McLaren GT and McLaren Automotive, alongside running his own engine building business with a specialism in MotoGP customer engine rebuild work. Four British Superbike and one British Supersport titles are amongst David’s technical achievements, and David has also worked for Dorna Motorsports in a technical capacity – so has experienced both sides of the challenge of competition.

David takes responsibility for the development and expansion of RPE’s in-house powertrain build, refreshment, and development capability, servicing the needs of not only Radical Sportscars new car production and its global customer base, but also external  opportunities for engine and gearbox supply programmes to third party championships in race, rally and on two wheels.

We welcome Mark and David to Radical Sportscars as part of a new and exciting future. To organise an interview with Mark, David or other members of the Radical team please contact the press office – details below
